Alison Perkins.

PGA AA Professional coach.

With over 30 years of coaching experience, I still am learning and adapting every day to be better, which is why my passion now is the same as the day I first picked up a club and fell in love with the game. Over the years through trial and error, success and failure, I have learnt so much. It's about finding YOUR best golf game or swing as we are all so different as humans. Finding out how/why you move and think a certain way is so much part of improvement. I wil ask questions and create you problems to solve, I will be by your side all the way to guide you to better golf.

I am available to coach anyone from complete novice, improving handicap to aspiring professionals. Any age and gender.

Having experienced so much and watched / learnt from some of the best players and minds of the game, I feel I am expertly placed to work with you on your journey to better and more enjoyable golf.

I wil ask questions based around your needs and goals and help you explore ways to become better.

Within the academy I use video, launch data as various coaching aids when required.

I have the facilities to help any part of your game to include swing, power, movement, short game, putting and mental ability. There are 3 undercover floodlit bays, 2 outdoor bays, grass hitting and short game area, bunker, sloped mat and sloped putting mat.

I very much offer that personal touch with session notes, feedback, plans and images also available.

Turned pro 1994. Qualified 1999 Pga national training academy, Belfry.

My golf journey started aged 14, of all sports I played it was the hardest and that was the addiction to learn.

I am pretty much self taught with occasional guidance from a professional. I watch , copied, practiced imitating others to hone my skills , initially on a school field and garden. By age 19 I was playing off 4 handicap and joined Newmarket links golf as an assistant. I trained to become a professional golfer and fell in love with the coaching side.

Since then I have continued to learn by improving my own game, experimenting, watching and listening to the best players and coaches in the world, via the PGA open swing zones at the men's and women's Open and solheim cup.

Attending seminars and workshops too on a wide range of subjects related to golf.

I really enjoy my job as a coach, whether I am helping a new golfer learn, reducing a handicap or just making golf fun. Seeing a fellow golfer improve is tremendously satisfying.

I am particularly passionate about coaching juniors and getting more women / girls / diverse groups into the game.

I am the first and only trans female to be part of the PGA as a coach. This has been a huge step as I thought several years ago I had lost myself and the game forever .

I returned to golf , which has been a huge struggle , yet I found myself tombe an even better coach than I was before. I still have aspirations to play competitive golf again so train every day.

I was part of a BBC documentary with Martina Navratilova on trans athletes in July 2019 and have featured on sky sports golf too. I have worked with Loughborough University too carrying out a study on myself to see what happens to trans female golfer re performance.

This subject is very important to me as I strive too be better me and ensure complete fairness in elite sport.
